My journey into making the successor to my stereo system
Recently, I've been spending a ot of time in my residential dorm, where I'm able to surround myself with all the electronics I want. When I went back to my parents home for reading week, there was nothing I missed more than the electronics that were completely lacking. However, one thing that I absolutely loved when I came back was the quality time I had with my adolesent stereo system (and my family).
This was the Panasonic SA-AK230. Of course, I am aware that this is nothing impressive, housing a 100W amplifier of some sort. But compared to the mono bluetooth speaker I had in my dorm, this was a big difference to be welcomed back to.
This got me thinking, with such an old system, could I upgrade it to something much better? Specifically, the bulky curved design of the stereo box seemed to pronounce its age of yesturyear, and the black was completely against my room theme. To add, it lacked bluetooth functionality, opting for the long outdated bulky casette player. Don't get me wrong, I used it everyday for its radio, bass and remote, connecting a bluetooth speaker to its aux. But still, something so big felt like it was excessive in my room.
Thus I began my journey to searching for the perfect audio amplifier with a much smaller form factor, with support for radio, bluetooth, aux, and had a remote control.
