Desk revamped
Learned a lot from building my first desk in university. Took it's learnings and built it into V2 of the desk, with key factor of being standing desk
Previous learnings:
- keyboard under glass sublayer was great, keep it
- glass was too far from edge, couldn't see bottom of kwyboard, bring it right up to the front
- top board started to bow over time, add support beams closer to middle. Also add aluminum L bracket horizontal to improve strength
- sides of bottom layer was never used (and got dusty...), use divider support beams and expose sides to outside
New features
- standing legs!
- exposed sides to store objects
- integrated power bars for hidden cable management
- integrated outlet (and usb) to the top
- sliding tray for keyboard to utilize full bottom layer
- cable spine to PC for clean bottom
- embedded glass screen! For clock and other gpio shenanigans
- integrated wireless charger
Learnings
- Get a more premium standing leg, this one wobbles
